At its core, the sculptural work -∞,[Fuck,Shit],+∞ consists of a part of a wide-ranging collection of objects and artefacts from various countries in Europe, Asia, the Middle East and Africa, which have been collected during several trips. These objects are combined with objects from Western culture and displayed together with paintings and sculptures created on journeys on a ladder that has been converted into a kind of shelf or display by means of indented boards. In this work, the coming together and clashing of material cultural objects of different origins is thematized and the resulting moments, which can contain both a certain banality and, in contrast, an almost holy sacredness, are presented to the viewer in what at first glance appears to be a hierarchical overall form. Through the physical approach of the objects of different origins, their level of content and meaning is partly shifted and new reading directions and interpretation possibilities for the viewer are created. The pyramidal form created by the converted ladder refers on the one hand to the myth of the Tower of Babel, and on the other hand to the representational form of a hierarchical system in the form of a triangle. On closer inspection, however, this hierarchy proves to be fragile and does not follow any visible logic in the positioning of the objects. At the top of the pyramid, a hand with a raised middle finger projects towards the sky.-∞,[Fuck,Shit],+∞ has been shown in three exhibitions since 2011 and has undergone a transformation process. In each version of the work, new elements and objects have been added. The work is thus in an ongoing process of development that is not completed.
